In Ooigem, we designed a contemporary family home that unites calm and rhythm on a spacious site. The concept is based on a sequence of volumes that subtly vary in height and material expression. This composition creates a layered spatial experience in which each zone has its own character — from open living areas to intimate sleeping quarters.

 

The transitions between volumes are deliberately designed — not as dividing lines, but as fluid movements. Natural light, sightlines, and texture enhance the home’s internal rhythm without disturbing its overall sense of serenity.

 

Contemporary technologies such as ventilation and solar shading are seamlessly integrated into the architecture. Every element has been purposefully designed to ensure optimal comfort, keeping the focus on space, tranquility, and the home’s connection with its surroundings.

 

The house settles naturally into the landscape, respecting scale and context. Materials such as timber, lime-washed brick, and wooden exterior joinery lend the home a warm, timeless character
